Description

Upgrade a Halogen Operatory Light to LED in Under an Hour - Head Swap Only

The Flight Torch LED Retrofit Kit replaces the head of an existing halogen operatory light while re-using the arm, power supply and wiring already installed. Ten variants cover six manufacturers, so the kit is matched to the light you own rather than the other way round.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Re-uses existing arms, power supplies and wiring - no rewiring, no new mount
  • Installs in under an hour - minimal disruption to the schedule
  • Complete kit - head, adapter, connectors, all fasteners and step-by-step instructions
  • Four LEDs on a 100+ facet reflector - shadowless, colour-corrected rectangular pattern at 5000-5500 K
  • 8,000 - 30,000 lux at under 15 W total draw
  • 50,000 hour LED life - roughly fifty times a halogen bulb

Which Kit Fits Your Light

  • A-dec 6300
  • Pelton LFII / LFIII, Yoke Style
  • Pelton LFII / LFIII, Pin Style
  • Pelton LF1
  • DCI PRO 72
  • DCI 1231, 1332, 1244, 1248
  • MARUS
  • MIDMARK
  • Belmont Clesta, models AL501 and AL711
  • Royal Proma, A-Series Halogen

Pelton LFII and LFIII share a kit; the yoke and pin styles do not. The two DCI kits are not interchangeable - PRO 72 is one part, the 1231, 1332, 1244 and 1248 another.

Clinical and Workflow Advantages

Practices postpone lighting upgrades because replacing an operatory light sounds like replacing the operatory. Retrofitting removes that: the mounting hardware, arm and power supply are already correct and already installed, so the work is a head swap. What changes is everything the clinician experiences - no radiant heat on the patient's face, a defined shadowless pattern instead of a soft halogen pool, and a bulb that will not need changing for years.

Why Choose the Flight Torch Retrofit Kit

It is the least disruptive route to LED lighting, and with ten fitments a multi-operatory practice running mixed hardware can standardise on one light head across every room. The IRIS retrofit kit is the tier above, adding adjustable colour temperature - though it does not cover Belmont Clesta or Royal Proma, which only the Torch kit fits. FAQs

Flight Torch LED Dental Operatory Light Upgrade Kit for 10 Brand Models

Q: Which halogen lights does this kit fit?

A: Ten models across six manufacturers: A-dec 6300; Pelton & Crane LFII and LFIII in both yoke and pin styles, plus the LF1; DCI PRO 72 and the DCI 1231, 1332, 1244 and 1248; Marus; Midmark; Belmont Clesta AL501 and AL711; and Royal Proma A-Series halogen. Select the variant matching your light.

Q: How do I tell a yoke-style Pelton from a pin-style?

A: It is how the head attaches to the arm - a yoke cradles the head between two arms, a pin mounts on a single post. Look at the joint before ordering, or send us a photo and we will identify it.

Q: I have a Pelton LFIII - is there a kit?

A: Yes. The LFII and LFIII take the same kit, in yoke or pin style. The LF1 is a separate kit, RFL-305FP1.

Q: Which DCI kit do I need?

A: Two exist. The PRO 72 takes RFL-305FDCI; the 1231, 1332, 1244 and 1248 take RFL-305FDCI2. They are not interchangeable.

Q: What exactly does the kit replace?

A: The light head only. The arm, post, power supply and wiring stay - that is what keeps installation under an hour.

Q: What is in the box?

A: Flight LED light head, adapter, connectors, all fasteners and step-by-step installation instructions.

Q: How much better is LED than the halogen it replaces?

A: About fifty times the bulb life at roughly a tenth of the power draw, with no radiant heat on the patient's face. Four LEDs on a 100+ facet reflector give a defined shadowless rectangular pattern at 5000-5500 K.

Q: How does this compare to the IRIS retrofit kit?

A: The Torch is fixed at 5000-5500 K and 8,000-30,000 lux. The IRIS adjusts from 4,200 to 6,000 K and up to 35,000 lux, and costs more. Note the Torch covers Belmont Clesta and Royal Proma; the IRIS kit does not.

Q: Is retrofitting better than replacing the whole light?

A: Almost always. A complete light means a new arm, new mounting and usually a technician for the mount; the retrofit is a head swap on hardware already installed and working.

Q: What warranty applies?

A: Two years from Flight Dental Systems, through DentalMarketplace as an authorized US dealer.
